Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: Approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Assignment: Medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care with an approximate 1:5 patient ratio
• Float Requirement: Float to different units within the healthcare organization as needed
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; some holidays may be required
• Orientation: 24 hours

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent registered nursing experience in medical-surgical and telemetry settings
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current RN license in hand, either an applicable compact license or an Ohio state license
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications are beneficial based on assignment needs
• Recent experience with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, Epic documentation, and caring for complex medical-surgical patients
• Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
• Comfort working night shifts, floating between units, and supporting weekend or holiday coverage

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical-surgical diagnoses.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition.
• Assess patients, develop and update individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate outcomes.
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs and provide care for central lines, PICC lines, ports, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and wound vacuums as appropriate.
• Manage oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, noninvasive airway support, BiPAP/CPAP, blood products, PCA therapy, and applicable insulin or heparin protocols.
• Support patients with conditions including renal failure, CVA, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, and post-operative recovery.
• Collaborate with IV therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the care team.
• Float to assigned units as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient status and activate rapid response or code resources when indicated.
