Senior Backend Engineer - Platform

Requirements Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and Express

• Solid AWS infrastructure expertise (ECS, VPC networking, IAM, etc.)
• Experience with Terraform (or other infrastructure-as-code tools)
• SQL expertise, with Postgres preferred
• Experience with Python for scripting or data workflows
• A proven ability to design and deliver backend systems at scale

• In this role, you will have a direct impact on scaling, modernizing, and implementing our backend platform
• You’ll work on high-impact projects such as introducing and coding microservices, enhancing observability, and driving performance and reliability across our APIs and data pipelines
• You’ll play a key role in defining best practices and implementation details as we evolve our API gateway and containerized infrastructure
• You will also implement features to unlock new capabilities for our clients, some of the most recognizable companies in the world, powering experiences that reach millions of users
• Building, optimizing, and maintaining backend services and APIs with a focus on performance and reliability
• Developing and maintaining internal tools, observability systems (logging, telemetry, metrics), and data pipelines
• Taking on varied technical challenges as priorities shift—whether that's improving CI/CD workflows, enhancing security posture, or architecting new systems
• Collaborate closely with a cross-functional engineering team of 6–7 engineers on delivering microservices and backend infrastructure improvements
• Contributing to infrastructure and deployment strategies using AWS and Terraform
• Championing best practices in testing, documentation, and automation
• Mentoring teammates and providing technical leadership for complex backend systems
