Security Officer 2 (3rd Shift)

This is a 3rd shift position and hours are 10:30pm to 6:30am, Monday night through Saturday morning. GENERAL PURPOSE Duties may include foot and vehicle patrols of multiple buildings to ensure the safety and security of MillerKnoll associates, guests, and property against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. The officer will function as a liaison between MillerKnoll and outside agencies, including law enforcement and fire departments. Officers will also investigate and report suspicious or unusual occurrences, assist in hazardous response, and provide first aid. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assume incident command for medicals, fires, and other emergencies. Multi-task in a high‑paced environment. Coach and achieve results through others to solve immediate issues. Remain service‑centric while effectively and tactfully enforcing MillerKnoll policies and procedures. Monitor, operate, test, and perform data entry for various computerized and electronic equipment used in access control, fire, and security systems. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Maintain initiative and situational awareness with balanced and sound independent judgment. Prepare reports, activity logs and communicate information as needed. Protect sensitive company and team member information. Read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance reports. Maintain regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours. Respond to medicals, fires, and other site emergencies. Make decisions using provided resources without direct supervision. Work in a team environment while completing projects to achieve business objectives. Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience One of the following is required: High school diploma or its equivalent (GED, for example). Work experience which demonstrates performance competency. Prior public safety, military, or security officer‑related job experience is preferred. Licenses and Certifications Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. First aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to certify within 30days of hire. Skills and Abilities Interact with personnel at all levels within the corporation, outside agencies, and the general public in a friendly, positive, and professional manner. Effectively use office automation/communication software and tools, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Exhibit excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to solve problems and de‑escalate situations in a non‑confrontational manner. Exhibit excellent attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple job duties and maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality. Prioritize decisions based on multiple criteria and identifiable standards of policies and procedures and work independently with little or no supervision. Be able to stand or sit for extended periods, walk long distances, use hands to handle, hold, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with arms, and talk or hear. Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Hearing ability in noisy environments. Who We Hire?
