Core Responsibilities
As Partnership Taxation Senior Manager, you will oversee the technical and client-facing aspects of partnership tax engagements, ranging from pass-through entity structures to complex multistate and international partnerships. You will prepare and review partnership tax returns, including Form 1065 and related schedules, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Your leadership responsibilities include mentoring and developing junior tax staff, reviewing their work product, and providing constructive feedback to support their professional growth. You will manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure engagements remain profitable and deliver exceptional value to clients.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, understanding their business objectives and developing tax strategies that optimize their partnership structures. Must-Have Requirements
You must possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, with a CPA license required. You should have a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in partnership taxation, ideally within a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
Strong technical competency in partnership taxation is essential, including expertise in partnership formation, partnership distributions, partnership allocations, and basis calculations. You must demonstrate proficiency with partnership tax software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with engagement management systems and tax research tools is highly valued.
Excellent communication skills are critical, as you will interact regularly with clients and team members at all levels. You must be capable of translating complex tax concepts into clear, actionable guidance for both tax professionals and business clients.
