Shift Details: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Days shift also available - TBD Medical Assistant Duties & Responsibilities: The Certified Medical Assistant performs and assists with a variety of basic patient care activities under the direction of a physician and supervision of a licensed nurse. Conduct peripheral venipuncture to collect blood samples from patients/residents and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Assist with the administration of oral medications and via subcutaneous and intramuscular routes, as directed by the licensed nurse and according to state scope of practice guidelines. Assist nurses with EKG's and other diagnostic tests and clinical procedures in accordance with level of training and health services policies and procedures. Attend sick calls with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and obstructed airway techniques. Dress and bandage wounds; assist with immobilization of bone and joint injuries Provide oxygen therapy; insert nasal and oral airway as directed by a licensed nurse. Assist with urinary catheterizations. Monitor, record and report vital signs and patient's condition as needed; contact doctors, supervisors, hospitals, etc. by phone or radio. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid, and unrestricted WA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position. High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Minimum of one (1) year related work experience. American Heart Association BLS, for Health Care Providers Certified Medical Assistant through American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA) if required by client. Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required. Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
