TRANSPORTATION & LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

LOCATION

Indianapolis, IN | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• $32-33 per hour
• Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM until work is complete
• Mandatory overtime required
• Temporary-to-Hire

ROLE IMPACT

The Transportation & Logistics Supervisor oversees the timely, compliant, and secure movement of materials, products, and medical samples throughout the supply chain. This role leads daily transportation operations while maintaining product integrity, cold chain requirements, supply continuity, and regulatory compliance. Success requires strong logistics knowledge, hands-on leadership, and the ability to keep complex domestic and international shipments moving efficiently.

KEY DUTIES

• Lead day-to-day transportation and logistics operations, coordinating domestic and international shipments by air and truck while monitoring shipment status, outbound flights, on-hold freight, and delivery approvals.
• Prepare Master Air Way Bills and Bills of Lading, secure cargo space, coordinate export bookings, file required Shipper’s Export Declarations (SED), and pre-screen cargo for export where applicable.
• Maintain cold chain management requirements, including gel pack and packaging preparation, configuration, refurbishment, product integrity, and chain-of-custody standards.
• Monitor transportation performance, tracking systems, asset utilization, operational reporting, and personal/group email accounts while resolving issues and completing required follow-up.
• Lead team performance, align workloads with business priorities, coach employees, and identify process, system, and vendor improvements that support efficiency, service, and cost effectiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, distribution, or a related field, with knowledge of import/export operations, transportation processes, regulatory compliance, quality, and safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with experience using transportation tracking systems, logistics metrics, and operational reporting.

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Onsite transportation and logistics environment supporting air and truck shipments.
• Cold chain packaging, gel packs, and reusable packaging preparation and refurbishment.
• Transportation tracking systems, shipment monitoring, and electronic communication tools.
• Ability to lift between 25–70 lbs.
• Monday–Friday schedule beginning at 6:00 AM with mandatory overtime and work continuing until daily operations are complete.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Air import/export, airline, airway bill, and cold chain management experience.
• CSCP, CLTD, CPIM, or equivalent industry-recognized certification.
