Job Description Construction Services Practice Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators, and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects. What We're Looking For: Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Scheduler to join our Construction Services team. In this role, you will support the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Independent Engineering Consultant (IEC) by providing independent schedule oversight, monitoring, and analysis for major capital infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with IEC Project Managers, Agency Project Managers, Schedulers, Contractors, and other key stakeholders to evaluate project progress, assess schedule performance, and identify potential risks. Responsibilities include participating in progress, scheduling, and risk management meetings, conducting schedule and field progress evaluations, and delivering insightful schedule analyses and recommendations that support weekly, monthly, and executive-level IEC reporting. What You'll Do: Review, analyze, and evaluate project schedules submitted to the IEC, identifying risks, constraints, schedule deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement Conduct site visits to assess field progress, validate schedule performance, and provide schedule analyses and recommendations to IEC Project Managers Perform schedule modeling, including what-if analyses and development of resource-loaded schedules for WBS elements as needed Analyze deterministic and probabilistic critical path activities and assess potential impacts to project schedules and project delivery Monitor and maintain complex, multidisciplinary project schedules in Primavera P6, communicating schedule trends, recovery strategies, and potential delays Support Project Managers in preparing schedule analyses, narratives, and reporting, while recommending improvements to schedule updates, revisions, and project controls processes Participate in project progress, schedule, and risk assessment meetings, providing objective schedule expertise and recommendations Represent the IEC at project meetings as needed, obtaining updated schedule information and ensuring consistent project oversight Provide leadership through technical expertise, mentorship, and knowledge sharing across the team Perform other duties as assigned Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; advanced degree with an emphasis in electrical or signal systems preferred 10 to 15 years of experience in project scheduling and controls for complex construction or infrastructure projects Prior experience supporting MTA projects is highly preferred Experience with multidisciplinary projects involving civil, structural, electrical, signal, systems, testing, and commissioning activities is a plus Strong communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Project experience preferred What You Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; advanced degree with an emphasis in electrical or signal systems preferred 10 to 15 years of experience in project scheduling, civil, structural, and controls for complex construction or infrastructure projects Prior experience supporting MTA projects is highly preferred Experience with multidisciplinary projects involving civil, structural, electrical, signal, systems, testing, and commissioning activities is a plus Strong communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Project experience preferred Compensation: The approximate compensation range for this position $166,400 - $187,200 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
