Personal Care Assistant (PCA) - Emotional Support

Location: Aston, PA

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide one-on-one and classroom support to students receiving special education services. The PCA will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to help students achieve their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals in a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements

• Associate degree preferred
• Passing score on a state-recognized paraprofessional assessment
• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
• Knowledge of special education practices and behavior support strategies
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Comfortable using technology and educational resources to support learning
• Ability to ride the school bus with the assigned student and provide support during transportation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one and classroom support to students with special needs
• Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior support plans
• Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally throughout the school day
• Monitor, document, and communicate student progress and behavior
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support student success
• Support students during transportation as needed
