Phlebotomist - 8H Days - 1YR Shift Details: Monday - Friday Days 7:30am - 4:30pm ***21-week assignment or 13 Week Assignment No Float or Call Required Years of Experience: 1 Year Patient Age Group: Infants Pediatrics Adolescents Adults Geriatrics Electronic Documentation Preferred: EPIC Required Skills: Clinic Physician office CLSI recommended Order of blood draws Gray top (Fluoride, Potassium Oxalate) Green Top (Heparin, Ammonia) Instruct patient on proper collection and preservation for laboratory specimen Light blue top tubes (coagulation) Patient positioning Perform point of care testing Post venipuncture site care Process specimens for laboratory (centrifuge, aliquot, storage) Purple top (EDTA) Red top tubes (plain) Report results and critical values for point of care procedures Understand Mode of action of additives/anticoagulants in blood collection tubes. Centrifuge Heel warmers Laboratory requisitions Occult blood packets Vacutainer holder Vacutainer tubes Syringe method Vacutainer method Chilled specimen Microbiological specimens Protection of specimen from light source Warmed specimen Finger stick Heel stick ABG collection Blood culture Glucose Screening Test GYN specimens Oral glucose Tolerance Test Aseptic Technique Blood specimen storage Data entry Medical records review Patient and donor care Proper disposal Proper labeling Quality assurance and controls Standard precautions Transmission based precautions Scrubs: Solid Matching Colors
