If you are a motivated professional looking for a long-term fit where you can grow in a role, and will be valued and empowered, then we invite you to apply to our Professional Liability Associate Attorney position in our New York, New York Office.The PositionWilson Elser’s New York office is seeking a Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join a dynamic litigation team representing professionals and organizations in matters involving legal malpractice and other professional liability claims.This role offers the opportunity to work on complex matters from early case assessment through resolution, including motion practice, mediation, and trial. The associate will play an active role in case strategy, client communication, and litigation management while collaborating closely with experienced partners and attorneys.Key Responsibilities:Independently manage or assist with a defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including dispositive motions, mediation, negotiated settlement, or trialDraft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents and conduct in-depth legal researchHandle court appearances, depositions, and other key litigation activitiesConduct and manage written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and subpoenasCollaborate with partners and other attorneys on case strategy and complex legal issuesCommunicate directly with clients and provide regular case status updates and strategic recommendationsQualificationsJD from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice in the State of New York2+ years of civil litigation experienceExperience with professional liability matters preferredStrong legal writing, research, and analytical skillsExperience handling written discovery, depositions, and motion practiceExcellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters effectivelyWilson Elser offers a competitive salary and benefits package designed to support our attorneys both professionally and personally.A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
