Law and Motion & Appellate Associate

Overview This role focuses on leading law and motion work in advance of trial and serving as embedded appellate counsel at trial. Requires demonstrated experience in brief writing, case management, and proficiency with all forms of written advocacy at the trial level, including dispositive motions, evidentiary motions, jury instructions, and verdict forms. Candidates should be comfortable serving as embedded appellate counsel on trial teams, partnering closely with trial counsel to preserve issues for appeal, develop legal strategy, and lead briefing on complex legal issues. Experience managing law and motion teams specifically for trial, working on MDLs, bellwether trials, and coordinated state court proceedings is strongly preferred. Key responsibilities include managing complex litigation workflows, coordinating across multiple teams, driving strategy in cases proceeding toward trial, and supervising junior attorneys. Leadership experience on matters and the ability to manage multiple significant matters simultaneously are ideal. Experience in the product liability and mass tort space is a plus.
