Senior Director, Rare Endocrinology and Rare Tumors Patient Services

This is what you will do: The Senior Director,Rare Endocrinology and Rare Tumors (RERT), Patient Services(PS)is responsible leading the Patient Servicesfunction for the RERTBusinessUnit,inclusiveof driving the development and implementation of the PS strategy for four indications: Hypophosphatasia (HPP), Lysosomal Acid Lipase Deficiency (LAL-D), Neurofibromatosis Type 1 plus Plexiform Neurofibromas (NF1PN) as well as potential future indications and assets. This critical leadership role willbe responsible forworking closely with theRERTBusiness Unit leadership to set the PS strategy, manage business performance,identify, and manage relationships with 3rd parties(e.g.specialty pharmacies)andidentifyopportunities to improve performance to better serve patients.This role will have responsibility for developing Patient Services strategy, and its execution viafield-based teams, includinga) the Case Management team, b) thePatient Education Manager team, and c) the Field Reimbursement Team.An essential element of success is a demonstrated ability to influence without authority and successfully negotiate and collaborate cross-functionally (e.g.marketing, market access, commercial operations, compliance, IT, legal, regulatory, training, medical, and field leadership).This leaderis responsible forensuring tight alignment with the business strategy tooptimizeopportunities to serve and educate patients in a compliant way. You willbe responsible for: Leading and continuing to evolvetheUS PS best-in-class strategy and operating model for the USRERTbusiness unit Overseeing thedesign of the Patient Services model for new launches and continuing to evolve existing indications’ models to ensurethe team is using AI and technology toscale andenhancethepatientexperience Managing3rd party vendor relationships to ensure achievement of KPIs and key businessobjectivesas well as compliance and quality Partneringclosely with Marketing, Market Access,Patient Advocacy,Legal, Compliance, Quality, Drug Safety, Commercial Operations, IT, Training, thirdparties and vendors to ensure that patient support programs and messaging are effectively meeting the needs of patients Recommendingprogram design innovations and lead implementation plans to senior leadership, with rationale for designselectionand financial impact.Work cross-functionally to design the Patient Services model for future launches Workingclosely with other members of Patient Services Leadership Team to drive department wide optimization Leadingdevelopment of US strategic planning (3yr/1 yr.) forRERTPS, including tactical plans and budget allocation Workingwith Market Access, CommercialOperationsand IT to ensure effective data flow with distribution partners to effectively manage the business Partneringwith commercial insights to conduct innovative research/analytics toidentifykey business dynamics, behavioral barriers, segmentation, and barriers to initiation and adherence Establishingprocess for collection and sharing of best practices Always conductingwork consistent with Astra Zeneca’s values: PutPatients First, Do the Right Thing, Play to Win, Be Entrepreneurial, and Follow the Science.Must make decisions consistent with Alexion, Astra Zeneca Rare Disease’s strong commitment to compliance and integrity, and respect for all laws, regulations, and company policies. You will need to have: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business field 15+ years related experience in the biotechnology industry Significant commercial experiences, withdemonstratedsuccess in patient services leadership positionspreferred Ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving environment and with changingtechnology; biastoward proactivelyidentifingproblems andimplementsolutions; must have a learning mindset and strong personal accountability Proven, consistent history of high performance regardless of position or company Exceptional communication skills and ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships Understanding of compliance regulations and guidance governing copay and patientassistanceprograms, and commercial and government payer benefit interpretation Launch experience and/or experience in high growth areas High learning agility Prior experience managing people High levelof interpersonal skills and highly adept in both verbal & written communication The duties of this role aregenerally conductedin an office environment.
