Candidates MUST possess a Bachelor's Degree preferably in psychology, sociology, or Human Services AND a valid Washington State Driver's License WITH reliable personal transportation. This position will work under the close guidance of a seasoned Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Skills learned will include how to engage with workers, employers, and medical providers to facilitate the return-to-work process. Tasks will involve preparing correspondence, reports and case documents, monitoring client treatments, assisting with routine follow up calls, scheduling appointments and attending face to face meetings with parties to claims. The goal of this position is to prepare you for a career as a certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.Desired Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a professional manner.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, disabilities and ethnic diversity.Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office applications; particularly Word.
