Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic Virbac Animal Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team located in Bridgeton, MO. The Maintenance Mechanic will maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on various types of equipment. Equipment Types Packaging Equipment Mixing Equipment Compression Equipment Building Systems Qualifications Ability to work independently Previous maintenance experience Experience in pharmaceutical or bio‑pharmaceutical equipment Pay Range $35.46 - $49.81 per hour (depending on experience). Key Responsibilities and Expected Results Area of Responsibility 1: Production Machinery Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance during machine shutdowns. Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs. Execute mechanic‑level skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of pharmaceutical packaging and production line machines. Electrical skills: AC/DC theory and analysis, power distribution, motor and machine control circuits, familiarity with PLCs. Mechanical skills: pump and gearbox repair, millwright practices, sheet metal work, pipefitting, welding. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to ensure correct maintenance repairs and equipment service. Expected Result: Ensure reliable and safe operation of machinery and equipment. Area of Responsibility 2: Preventive Maintenance Conduct detailed equipment inspections based on preventive maintenance procedures. Maintain legible record‑keeping procedures. Use electrical and calibration testing equipment. Expected Result: Limited downtime of equipment and production machinery. Area of Responsibility 3: Facilities and Facility‑Related Equipment Repair, modify, construct, fabricate, install and maintain building structures and equipment. Work with building codes. Understand facility equipment: boilers, chillers, air handling systems. Expected Result: Limit downtime of infrastructure equipment. Area of Responsibility 4: Continuous Improvement Participate in Kaizen events. Support 5S projects. Expected Result: Create a sustainability culture. Area of Responsibility 5: Safety Participate in safety‑related groups. Identify possible safety hazards. Expected Result: Create safety culture. Profile High‑school diploma; trade school or college preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience.
