Offshore Mechanical Technician

This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment on offshore production facilities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing production downtime, and maintaining compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on offshore production equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, centrifugal pumps, diesel engines, generators, and other rotating equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving hydraulic systems, cranes, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities and document completed work accurately.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with production personnel to safely return equipment to service following maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist with inventory management of spare parts and mechanical components.
• Ensure compliance with BSEE regulations, SEMS requirements, company policies, and safe work practices.
• Participate in emergency response activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
• Minimum of 35 years of mechanical maintenance experience, with offshore oil and gas experience strongly preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of high-pressure gas compressors, gas turbines, diesel engines, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, hydraulic systems, rotating and reciprocating equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Basic computer proficiency, including maintenance management software (CMMS), is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and platform structures.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and offshore marine environments.
• Ability to work a 14/14 offshore rotation.
