Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer - Food & Beverage

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for an entry-level mechanical engineer with our Food & Beverage group in our Fenton, MO office location. Responsibilities include: Performing job site surveys of food and beverage manufacturing facilities to analyze ammonia refrigeration Process glycol and HVAC systems Calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling loads and building loads Performing engineering calculations for system designs Assisting in the selection of system components required for new and existing systems Drafting and editing AutoCAD drawings Designing and modeling 3D mechanical systems in Revit & Plant 3D Assisting in the development of project documentations Assisting in creating written specifications for equipment Coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors and customers Overseeing construction and assisting with startup activities Occasional travel (up to 40%) will be required. The successful candidate will have the following: A bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: A mechanical internship working in an engineering, architecture, or construction firm Coursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics Coursework or experience in AutoCAD Capability of obtaining an EIT within nine months of hire Familiarity with International Mechanical Code requirements, ASHRAE standards, and building construction materials Physical Abilities: Capacity to work long hours on foot, often in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Must be able to ascend & descend a 30' OSHA fixed ladder Good eyesight for inspecting equipment and ensuring safety compliance Ability to discern and react to auditory cues in a noisy construction environment Must be able to speak & write fluent English Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to multiple food ingredients Mead & Hunt proudly offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, a 401K plan with a generous company match, life and disability insurance, and an employee assistance program.
