Reign Recovery is a California DHCS-licensed residential addiction treatment center in Los Angeles (License #191661AP) providing medically supervised detox and residential inpatient treatment with integrated dual-diagnosis care. About the Role This is a part-time, on-site Behavioral Health Technician role based in Los Angeles, CA. The BHT is a critical member of our residential treatment team — serving as a consistent, compassionate presence for individuals in early recovery during shift hours. The Behavioral Health Technician monitors individuals to ensure safety, conducts regular wellness checks, and documents observations in accordance with program guidelines and DHCS Title 9 requirements. This role supports individuals with behavioral interventions, de-escalation techniques, and crisis response under the direction of clinical and supervisory staff. Additional responsibilities include communicating changes in individual status to the clinical team, collaborating across the treatment team, adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality standards, completing required documentation accurately and on time, and assisting with basic facility upkeep during shift hours. What You Will Do Conduct regular safety checks and document observations accurately in accordance with program protocols Monitor individuals throughout the shift to ensure physical and emotional safety Implement behavioral interventions and de-escalation techniques as directed by clinical staff Respond to crises calmly and professionally, and notify supervisory staff immediately Communicate changes in individual behavior or status to the clinical and medical team Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and required program documentation Follow individualized care plans and facility protocols at all times Adhere to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and all confidentiality and compliance standards Collaborate respectfully with clinical, medical, and operations team members Assist with basic facility upkeep and environmental safety during shift hours Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT) Certification Minimum 1 year of continuous sobriety — required for all direct care staff at Reign Recovery Current CPR and First Aid certification — must be valid at time of hire Ability to remain calm, observant, and professional during overnight hours and in high-stress situations Strong written and verbal communication skills Capacity to follow safety protocols and complete detailed documentation consistently and accurately Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical tasks throughout the shift as required for individual safety Satisfactory criminal background check, if requested Willingness to sign HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Confidentiality Agreement before start date Preferred Qualifications Coursework or a degree in psychology, behavioral health, social work, or a related field Knowledge of behavior-focused practices, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Prior experience in residential, behavioral health, or recovery treatment settings Experience or education in behavioral intervention and psychology Certification as a Recovery Specialist, Peer Support Specialist, or CADC in progress Familiarity with DHCS Title 9 residential program documentation standards Personal lived experience in recovery — not required but welcomed and valued at Reign Recovery Bilingual — Spanish or Arabic, a plus given our Los Angeles service population Employment Requirements All offers of employment are contingent upon: Satisfactory criminal background check Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT) Certification Verification of a minimum of 1 year of continuous sobriety Valid CPR and First Aid certification at time of hire Signed HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Confidentiality Agreement before start date TB test or health clearance is mandatory by DHCS What We Offer Meaningful work in a licensed clinical residential environment Supportive team structure with clear clinical oversight Opportunity to build experience in addiction treatment and behavioral health A workplace culture built on accountability, compassion, and recovery A peer community of professionals who are committed to doing this work the right way How to Apply Submit your resume and a brief note about your background to: View email address on click.appcast.io Reign Recovery is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
