Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Title Under general supervision, operates and performs minor maintenance of heavy construction vehicles and equipment to assist in the construction and maintenance of sanitary and storm sewer facilities. Job Description Essential Functions: Operates heavy construction vehicles and equipment such as a back hoe, excavator, skid steer or truck mounted crane in digging trenches, loading trucks, lowering pipe/ shoring and back filling Operates equipment such as a wheel loader in loading trucks at ground level Inspects and services vehicle and makes minor repairs Makes minor repairs to all equipment; transfers equipment and stations for safe operation Supervises work of assigned employees Additional Responsibilities: Perform related work as required or as delegated by supervisor. Pursuant to MSD's "Substance Abuse Policy and Procedures," this position has been designated as safety sensitive, and candidate must pass a D.O.T. Drug Test for this position. Employees occupying this position are subject to Federal (D.O.T.) Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations.
