Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

As our Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction. Every day, you will deliver compassionate basic care, assist with patient transport, and actively contribute to the patient's plan of care as a vital member of our multi-disciplinary team, upholding the highest standards of conduct and patient well-being. Delivers direct patient care as delegated including but not limited to oral cares, bathing, transferring, repositioning, feeding, and providing direct supervision for patients requiring it

Communicates and works cooperatively with nursing staff by reporting observations, serving as a liaison between patient and nurse, and updating other staff members through shift report

Measures and documents accurately and at the time of occurrence vital signs, input and output, weights, procedures, personal care, activities of daily living, specimens as directed, observations, dietary intake, and ambulation

Assumes routine coordination of clerical activities under the direction of department leadership and nurses on duty, including answering and routing phone calls, stocking supplies, communicating new orders and test results to pertinent staff, and locating charts and forms as requested

Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality

Job Requirements

Required

• CNA Certification
• ND State Nursing Assistant Registry
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly

Preferred

• Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required

Where You'll Work

CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison includes the services of a 22-bed critical access hospital, a 26-bed skilled nursing facility, an attached rural health clinic, and an Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. We offer many outpatient services, including physical therapy, radiology services, laboratory services, cardiac rehabilitation, and IV treatments. Since opening in 1952, CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison has been dedicated to serving the residents of Garrison and the surrounding rural communities. The hospital is equipped with 4 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed program, and acute care services.
