The Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine is excited to announce an opening for a faculty role at the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM). This position is for a non-tenure track Infectious Diseases Clinician Educator who will offer both inpatient and outpatient consultations for adult patients within our health system.

The ideal candidate will showcase a strong commitment to patient care, particularly for immunocompromised individuals. A proven track record in scholarly activities and experience in an academic medical center is essential for consideration at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. For those seeking an appointment as an Associate Professor or higher, a minimum of five years of productive service in a similar role is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Duties: The selected individual will provide high-quality clinical care to patients within the USF Health System, which includes both inpatient and outpatient services. Assignments may be at Tampa General Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, or other affiliated locations, as determined by department leadership.

• Teaching: Engage in bedside teaching for medical students, residents, and fellows during Infectious Diseases service rounds.

• Professional Development: Participate in service and professional growth activities.

• Report to a Chair or another designated higher-level administrator at the state university.

• Contribute to teaching, research, service, and related administrative responsibilities.

• Provide academic advising and related support.

• May represent the university, college, or department in various capacities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

A medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest relevant degree in the field, along with a demonstrated history of excellence in teaching, academic research, and service. Candidates must meet the university's criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For those applying for Associate or Full Professor, a record of creative work, professional writing, or research published in peer-reviewed journals is typically expected, along with recognition as an authority in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates must possess or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or its foreign equivalent. To fulfill the responsibilities of this role, the candidate must obtain and maintain a full unrestricted Florida Medical License, uphold credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the assigned hospitals.

Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Disease is also required.
