Job Description

The Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department and is accountable to Director of Food Services.

Requirements :

• High School Graduate
• Dietary Experience preferred
• Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments
• Willingness to perform routine and repetitive tasks efficiently
• Numerical ability necessary for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals
• Good motor coordination and skills for work routines such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment and work area
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
• Must be able to withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes when entering refrigerated storage areas or when working at oven ranges, dish washing machines, and at steam tables
• Flexible availability, including weekends

Job Duties:

• Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled
• Assist in arranging tray cards ,loading food carts, and serving meals
• Wash and store dishes
• Follow established reporting procedures
• Assist in receiving and storing foods and supplies
• Attend In-Service educational programs
• Follow defined safety codes
• Follow defined Infection Control Procedures
• Understand Facility Emergency Preparedness Plans following established procedures during all drills and actual emergencies
• Perform other department duties as assigned by Director

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
