That is the legacy and hope that created Freddie's Place.We opened the doors to Freddie's Place Animal Hospital & Urgent Care in 2023 with the vision of providing gold standard care at a fair cost. Being financially ethical across the board and helping animals & their parents is very important to us. Family owned and operated, Freddie's Place is a hybrid: Urgent Care & General Practice Veterinary Hospital that services the North County area of San Diego, in Vista and soon to open in Oceanside. We operate on a "walk in basis" for cases ranging from routine to Urgent Care. We are looking to hire veterinarians currently for both locations. Every team member is empowered to try new things and own their decision-making.WHO WE NEED: You're passionate, motivated & value learning as well as teachingStrong background in clinical medicine including routine and emergency surgeriesA team player that is honest and respectful to your peersYou're comfortable adapting to new scenarios, willing to learn new techniques, & thinking outside of the boxExcellent interpersonal capabilities across a diverse groupPitch in wherever you are needed with a positive attitudeKnow when to ask for assistanceDisplay excellent communication skills to your peers, customers & team WHAT YOU NEED:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine DVM/VMD or related degree from an accredited universityLicensure in good standing to practice in CaliforniaCommitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethicsStrongly preferred or 3+ years of experience specifically in general practice, Urgent Care, or ERCC.Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicineDental: Radiograph Interpretation, Extractions Strongly PreferredDEA CertificationBasic computer skills, medical record keepingStrong skills in anesthesia, diagnostics, lab work, and patient monitoringProvide information in person & over the phone communicating clearly, appropriately & professionallyAbility to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift 25kg on own and able to support up to 50 kg with assistance. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concernsPerforms physical examination and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality of care while minimizing patient stress and discomfortCommunicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventative health care and nutritional needsBe trained to properly perform all aspects of CPR as a RECOVER Certified RescuerParticipate in giving and receiving patient rounds to ensure continuity of careContribute as a team member to incoming outpatient care and ongoing inpatient careSet-Up, monitor, and administer IVF therapy including CRI Administer SQF, IM, IV injections & understand potential adverse effects of medicationsUse understanding of common diseases and conditions, physical assessment & monitoring parameters to accurately triage incoming patientsCoach & guide veterinary support staff to perform clinical tasks to maintain standards of care and encourage growth.
