Robotics Hardware Tester

Conduct hands-on testing of robotic sub-assemblies and hardware components to provide real-world input that helps improve next-generation AI systems. This San Francisco-based contract role is suited to students, recent graduates, and technical professionals who can follow detailed procedures precisely and communicate findings clearly. No prior AI experience is required. Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional and reliability testing on robotic sub-assemblies and hardware components.
• Use DAQ systems, measurement instruments, and other diagnostic equipment according to provided protocols.
• Document test procedures, results, anomalies, and unexpected behavior in written and verbal form.
• Identify and clearly report failures encountered during testing.
• Work with engineers and other experts to investigate hardware issues, identify root causes, and suggest improvements.
• Follow detailed test instructions accurately and contribute to improvements in testing processes and documentation.

• Basic knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems and terminology.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow instructions exactly.
• Comfort handling physical equipment and completing hands-on technical assignments.
• Physical stamina for repeated test setup, operation, and teardown.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior hardware testing or laboratory experience is helpful but not required.

• Contract engagement based in San Francisco, California.

• $10 to $20 per hour.
