We focus on maintaining a safe work environment and strive to achieve zero injuries through our safety-first culture.Job Location: New Orleans, LAJob Type: Full-TimeStatus: Non-ExemptSummary of the RoleThe Warehouse Technician will manage all activities related to the functioning of the warehouse in order to meet or exceed customer expectations and to achieve facility and company goals.ResponsibilitiesMust maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and proceduresReceives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouseIdentify any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisorPicks product in warehouse and prepares items for pick up, delivery or shippingPackage and ship through UPS, Fed Ex, and LTL Motor FreightAssist with staging local shipments for VMI delivery and Hot ShotsHandles customer pickupsMakes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvementsAssists with physical inventoryProperly label and store received goods for future identification and retrievalMaintain all warehouse locations, bins, and racks in a neat and orderly fashionProperly keep designated stocking locations stocked as requiredPull stock for all "Pick- Pack-Ship" orders for daily customersProvide correct parts and materials for daily production ordersPerform other duties as trained and qualified forSkills and AbilitiesBasic computer skills in MS Office, internet and emailExperience working in ERP or Inventory system such as P21 a plusBasic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software and to create packing listSelf-starterExcellent attention to detailApplicants should possess the ability to interact with customers and team members in a professional manner. Some leadership experience is a plus.Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and writtenRequires proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.Strong organizational and housekeeping skillsAbility to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of peopleMinimum QualificationsMust be 21 years of age or olderA valid driver's license and a clean driving record1-3 years of related warehousing or production experienceAbility to safely drive a Company truck or other mechanical equipmentHigh school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experienceMust be able to work independentlyMust have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipmentReliable transportation is a mustAbility to work overtime, as requiredAbility to work nights and weekends, as requiredBackground checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required by law)Preferred QualificationsExperience working in an industrial settingKnowledge of tooling and tool maintenanceERP experience, P21 a plusPhysical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a production and warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions. These include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold), varying noise levels, exposure to dust, and other typical elements of an active industrial environment.
