Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager Job Summary Reporting to the Head Equipment Manager, the Assistant EquipmentManager supports the daily operations of the athletic equipmentdepartment. Responsibilities include laundry services, uniformdistribution and collection, equipment inventory and maintenance,game-day setup and breakdown, storage organization, andtransportation of athletic equipment. The position works closelywith coaches, student-athletes, student workers, and athleticsstaff to support practices, competitions, team travel, and otherdepartment activities. Responsibilities Assist with the distribution, collection, fitting,organization, maintenance, and storage of athletic equipment andapparel for assigned athletic programs. Maintain accurate equipment inventories and assist withperiodic inventory counts. Inspect equipment and apparel for condition, cleanliness, andfunctionality; report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment to theHead Equipment Manager. Assist with basic equipment fitting, adjustment, maintenance,repair, and modification. Prepare and organize equipment for practices, competitions,team travel, and other athletic events. Assist with game-day setup and breakdown, including equipmentpreparation, placement, collection, and storage. Operate department laundry equipment and process uniforms,practice gear, towels, and other athletic apparel. Maintain clean, organized, and secure equipment rooms, storageareas, and laundry facilities. Assist with loading, unloading, and transportation of equipmentand supplies between university facilities and other locations asassigned. Operate university vehicles, as authorized, in accordance withuniversity policies and applicable requirements. Provide limited direction and oversight to student workers, asassigned. Communicate equipment needs, shortages, damages, andoperational concerns to the Head Equipment Manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accuraterecords. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with coaches, student-athletes,student workers, and athletics staff. Ability to safely handle and transport athletic equipment andsupplies. Ability to work a variable schedule, including evenings,weekends, holidays, and athletic competitions. Valid driver's license and ability to meet universityrequirements for operation of university vehicles, asapplicable. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in athletic equipment management,collegiate athletics, recreation, or a related field. Experience with athletic equipment, uniforms, laundryoperations, inventory control, or equipment transportation. Experience with basic equipment fitting, adjustment,maintenance, or repair. Work Schedule This is a part-time position with a variable schedule based ondepartmental, team, and competition needs. The position may requireevenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional work hours,particularly during athletic seasons, competitions, team travel,and special events.
