Senior Associate Scientist I, Isotope Production

RayzeBio seeks a Senior Associate Scientist I to support radiochemical research and isotope production operations, primarily working with Actinium-225 synthesis via cyclotron irradiation. The role involves executing separation techniques, conducting scale-up studies, managing radioactive materials safely, and collaborating on process development activities for manufacturing. Candidates require a BS/MS in radiochemistry, chemistry, or related field plus at least 2 years of hands-on experience with radioactive materials.

Responsibilities

• Execute radiochemical separation and purification methods using chromatography and solvent extraction techniques
• Conduct hands-on laboratory work with alpha-emitting isotopes following radiological safety procedures
• Run process scale-up studies transitioning benchtop methods to shielded hot cell operations
• Independently execute target processing, radionuclide recovery tasks, and basic process troubleshooting
• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data under supervision using standard scientific methods

Requirements

• BS or MS in Radiochemistry, Chemistry, or related scientific field
• 2+ years direct experience working with radioactive materials
• Willingness to work in hot cells, gloveboxes, and shielded enclosures
• Strong attention to detail with good data documentation skills
• Prior experience with ion exchange chromatography or radionuclide recovery methods preferred
• Familiarity with analytical instrumentation such as HPGe spectroscopy or ICP-MS preferred
