Automated Production Equipment Technologist

Step into the heartbeat of CelLink’s factory floor From the first shift alert to the final production run of the day, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring our automated systems stay precise, safe, and efficient. As an Automated Production Equipment Technologist, you’ll jump on real-time issues, craft durable fixes, and partner closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations to keep our lines humming. What your day looks like Tackle on-the-fly troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems—then turn quick wins into lasting solutions. Fabricate, modify, and assemble mechanical and electrical components and assemblies for production equipment. Build, test, and install custom manufacturing tools and equipment, including: Precise, detail-focused mechanical assembly following engineering drawings. Electrical component and cabinet wiring per engineering schematics. Create and revise mechanical CAD models and detailed drawings. Jump into machining and welding tasks as needed to meet production goals. Collaborate with equipment engineers, process engineers, and production operators to maximize uptime and throughput. Help construct new equipment and continuously improve existing assets. Get hands‑on with roll‑to‑roll web handling and processing systems—rollers, drives, edge guides, brakes, and steering mechanisms. What you bring Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field (preferred). 2+ years of hands‑on experience as a machinist, welder, mechanic, equipment engineer, or equivalent (desired). Background in designing, assembling, and/or maintaining automated manufacturing equipment (strongly preferred). Core Skills Resourceful, independent problem solver with curiosity for new tech. Organized and detail‑oriented; thrives in a fast‑paced start‑up. Excellent communication and teamwork; strong work ethic. Solid 3D CAD proficiency (SolidWorks strongly preferred). Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings. Proven ability to create/modify mechanical drawings, models, and assemblies. Experience creating/updating technical documents and work instructions. Committed to a clean, orderly, and safe workspace. Comfortable and safe with hand and machine tools. Bonus skills (bring a subset) Lean manufacturing know‑how. Familiarity with materials and construction methods used in manufacturing equipment. Introductory knowledge of PLCs and device configuration software. Understanding of statistical process control (SPC). Reading and working from electrical schematics. Electrical cabinet wiring experience. Hands‑on experience with roll‑to‑roll equipment assembly or maintenance. Working conditions and compensation Working Conditions/Hours Hourly/Non‑exempt (OT eligible) This position pays an hourly rate of $32 and is eligible for OT for hours worked in excess of limits defined by Texas state overtime laws.
