Project Overview Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary In this role, you will support material planning and/or material coordination for a small to medium project site. Planning activities will include clear identification of required materials, and details for how they will be stored and shipped. Coordination activities will include reporting of material work package statuses for installation. Your efforts will support adequate and accurate materials and equipment at the jobsite. Major Responsibilities Material Coordination Performs material coordination activities at a jobsite within material discipline of responsibility to ensure accurate reporting of material and equipment work package statuses for installation. Monitors planned inventory control mechanisms, such as min‑max and bag‑and‑tag, and uses Digital Supply Chain tools. Continuously performs priority allocations to ensure material availability well in advance of installation requirements. Coordinates material availability in support of design revisions, rework, contingency or work‑around plans. Participates in Construction and/or Subcontractor planning meetings to be fully aware of changes in installation plans and priorities. Coordinates with warehouse personnel for materials to be issued directly to the installation area, rather than being controlled in storage. Coordinates the constructability look‑ahead meetings. Prepares the site constructability reports as inclusive of 30, 60, and 90‑day look‑aheads. Material Planning Verifies that material requisitions clearly identify required pay items and reflect a level of detail in which materials will be shipped and stored prior to distribution to Construction for installation. Coordinates material planning activities for a material discipline area of responsibility. Maintains direct working relationship with Project Controls, Discipline Engineers, Supply Chain, Automation Support and/or Construction Coordinator to ensure construction personnel are provided with materials to support the completion of construction work. Monitors Engineering and Supply Chain deliverable schedules to meet the construction schedule. Monitors materials components aspects of the project Automation Plan related data transfers between the functional groups with respect to assigned discipline area of responsibility. Education And Experience Requirements Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2‑5 years of relevant experience, or 6‑9 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills Advanced knowledge of all procurement operations related to the management of materials at area, regional, temporary and jobsite office locations. Knowledge of how to manage material fabricators. Knowledge in Field Engineering and Construction activities, and knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures related to materials management functions. Knowledge of all Engineering disciplines, the work process and the deliverables produced. Knowledge of applicable Bechtel policies, instructions, and Procurement procedures and guidelines. Knowledge and experience in the use of the Digital Supply Chain System, Engineering tools and other project data systems preferred. Prior experience in major global, direct hire and contract management projects, which include Engineering, Procurement, and materials control activities.
