About the Role Chapman Chevrolet is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Used Vehicle Strategist to help us develop new ways to acquire, manage, and sell pre-owned inventory. This is not a traditional Used Car Manager position. We are looking for someone with automotive sales experience, strong business instincts, fresh ideas, and the desire to grow into a larger leadership role. Previous automotive management experience is not required . A major focus of this position will be identifying new opportunities to acquire quality used vehicles, particularly through our service drive and existing customer base . The Used Vehicle Strategist will work closely with our sales and service teams to identify customers who may be ready to sell, trade, or upgrade their vehicles while helping build a strong pipeline of desirable pre-owned inventory. The ideal candidate is curious, competitive, comfortable with technology and data, and willing to challenge traditional ways of doing things. We are looking for someone who can bring new ideas to the dealership while learning the fundamentals of used vehicle management from an experienced leadership team. Responsibilities Develop creative strategies to acquire quality pre-owned vehicles outside of traditional auction channels Build a vehicle acquisition pipeline through the service drive, existing customers, trade opportunities, and other sources Identify and engage service customers whose vehicles may be strong candidates for purchase or trade Work closely with sales and service teams to identify vehicle acquisition and sales opportunities Evaluate potential inventory using market data, vehicle history, condition, demand, and dealership needs Monitor used vehicle inventory, pricing, aging, market trends, and competitive activity Assist with vehicle appraisals, acquisition decisions, pricing, and inventory management Develop a strong understanding of acquisition costs, reconditioning, pricing, inventory turn, and profitability Use dealership technology, market data, and available tools to identify opportunities and make informed decisions Build strong relationships with customers and provide a professional, straightforward vehicle acquisition experience Bring new ideas and strategies to dealership leadership to improve used vehicle acquisition and sales Qualifications 3–5 years of automotive sales experience in a dealership environment required Previous automotive management experience is not required Strong interest in used vehicles, vehicle values, market trends, and automotive retail Comfortable approaching and communicating with customers in both sales and service environments Strong communication and relationship-building skills Self-motivated with the ability to recognize opportunities and take initiative Naturally curious, adaptable, and willing to explore new approaches Comfortable using technology, market data, and dealership systems Competitive, coachable, and interested in developing into a dealership leader Ability to work collaboratively across sales, service, and dealership management Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening Compensation & Perks Competitive commission-based compensation with strong earning potential Opportunity to develop into a larger used vehicle management role Hands-on training and professional development Opportunity to bring new ideas and strategies to the dealership Volunteer opportunities and employee engagement programs Closed on Sundays Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company contributions Life and disability insurance Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid time off and holidays #J-18808-Ljbffr Chapman Chevrolet
