Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience or experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center License: Pending license accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Ventilator management, IV start, Telemetry, Critical care Must-Have: Proficiency in managing complex postoperative patients, including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation. Description: The Registered Nurse in the PACU will work rotating shifts as needed. This position includes night shifts, with expectations to pre-operative patients for first cases when there are no patients in the PACU. Nurses will manage a patient ratio of 1:2. Previous experience in critical care is required, with proficiency in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. This role involves care for surgical patients recovering from procedures, including GU, GYN, colorectal, bariatric, and other minimally invasive surgeries. Nurses in this position should be prepared to handle complicated postoperative patients. Experience with Epic charting is required. Weekend work is not required. This role includes being on-call for 24 hours within a six-week period as needed. Candidates must complete a Relias EKG exam as part of their onboarding. Individual responsibility includes providing care for ventilated patients and starting and maintaining IVs. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center, and the role may involve management of patients in pre-op as well. Applicants should possess skills in pre-op assessment and education. No local candidates will be accepted within a specified radius. Additional requirements may apply as per specific facility needs.
