Authorization Specialist Full Time Clerical US The Authorization Specialist will provide support for verifying current and accurate patient insurance information and to work with insurance companies to obtain authorization(s) for services. Essential Functions Verifypatientbenefitsandcalculateout of pocketcostsusingmultipleinsuranceresources. Contact patients regarding out-of-pocket costs prior to patient services. Obtain,review,andinputinsuranceauthorizationandreferralspriortopatientservices. Monitorandtrackpatientauthorizations. BeproficientintheuseofICD-10andCPTcodes. Verifiesstatusofparticipatingprovidersandinsuranceplans. Supportmedicalofficeteammembers. Workscloselywithmanagementteaminbusinessofficetoensureallinternalandexternal customer service issues are addressed. Participatesineducational activitiesandattendsdepartmentteammeetings. Conductsoneselfinaccordancewithcompanypoliciesandprocedures. Performs other duties as required. Medicalofficeexperience:dermatology,plasticsurgery, varicose vein, and/or radiation oncology preferred. KnowledgeofHIPAAregulations,insurancepayers,ICD-10,CPTcodes,andfeeschedule reimbursement methodology. Mustbedetail-orientedandaself-starterwiththeabilitytoworkindependently. Possessexcellentcommunicationandorganizationalskillswiththeabilitytomulti-task,set priorities, and meet deadlines and departmental metrics. Mustbecourteous withexcellentcustomerserviceskillswhilemaintainingstrictconfidentiality. Possesshighjobaccuracy,efficiency,anddependability. Musthaveconsistent,punctual,andreliableattendance. Abilitytoestablisheffectiveworkingrelationshipswithproviders,staffandthepublic. Must have access to fast access internet Education & Experience Highschoolgraduate,GEDorequivalent. Oneyearofmedicalofficeinsurance andauthorizationexperience. Excellentcomputer,multi-tasking,phone,and electronic faxing skills. KnowledgeofPracticeSoftwareSystem/s. KnowledgeofMicrosoftproducts.
