Under general supervision, the Clinical Nurse identifies and implements nursing interventions, evaluates results, and serves a wide variety of patient populations. The clinical nurse directs and serves as a resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned, promotes compliance with policies, and achieves trust in professional collegial relationships. Jacobs Medical Center Hematology and Cellular Therapy unit offers the only Blood and Marrow Transplant program in San Diego. The unit focuses on blood and marrow transplant, cellular therapies such as CAR‑T, and serves patients with hematological malignancies on our 36‑bed private room unit. Range of diseases includes lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, testicular cancer, aplastic anemia, and autoimmune and genetic diseases. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing RN License issued by the State of California BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six (6) months of hire date Commitment to obtain Chemotherapy Certification within one (1) year of hire date Minimum six (6) months of recent inpatient acute care RN experience in BMT, Oncology, or PCU (Med/Surg level may be considered if low volume of applicants) Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately complex problems to develop potential solutions Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistent empathy and kindness to all staff and patients Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS BSN OCN certification Chemotherapy certification BMTCN certification SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on‑call and various locations based on the 24‑hour Medical Center's business needs Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical Per‑diem shift requirement is an average of one shift per week. Must be available one weekend shift every four weeks and required to work one of the following holidays per year: Memorial Day, July4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or NewYear'sEve per a rotational schedule or department needs PAY INFORMATION Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 - $91.16 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
