Physician - Medical Oncology

Job Details:

• Schedule is 1-2 weeks per month, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• 5x8 shift structure with full-time coverage needed per month
• See approximately 12-15 patients per day with a patient population of adults 18 and older
• Responsibilities include inpatient consults, evaluating new referral patients in both oncology and hematology, diagnosing and staging cancer, and developing and implementing treatment plans including chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• No special procedures required; if bone marrow biopsy is necessary, patient can be referred to Interventional Radiology
• EMR systems used are ONCO for clinic and Cerner for hospital
• Robust support staff available including oncology-experienced RNs, Nurse Navigators, Medical Assistants, a Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy RN Tech, and additional clerical and administrative support
• Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology Oncology required
• Active DEA and CSR required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required

This facility is a community hospital with 228 beds, offering a full-service oncology department equipped to handle both outpatient clinic visits and inpatient consultations. The oncology department is well-staffed and supported, providing a collaborative environment for delivering high-quality cancer care to the local and surrounding communities.
