Quality Assurance / Lab Technician

The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all spring water products meet strict internal quality standards as well as FDA, NSF, and state food safety regulations. Operating primarily within an on-site testing laboratory and on the production floor, this position conducts wet chemistry, microbiological, and physical package testing to guarantee product safety, consistency, and compliance from raw source water to finished bottled product. Must have food grade quality lab experience.

Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Sample Analysis

• Microbiological Testing: Collect and analyze water samples for total coliforms, E. coli, heterotrophic plate counts (HPC), yeast, and mold using membrane filtration and incubation techniques.

• Analytical & Chemical Testing: Perform routine wet chemistry testing on raw source water and finished product, including pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), conductivity, turbidity, hardness, and ozone/chlorine residuals .

• Packaging & Integrity Checks: Conduct burst testing, torque checks on bottle caps, fill-level verification, code-date accuracy, and seal integrity checks on bottles and cases.

• Equipment Calibration: Calibrate, sanitize, and maintain lab instrumentation (e.g., pH meters, spectrophotometers, turbidity meters, analytical balances) to ensure accurate measurement.
