Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist

Morningstar Living is seeking a compassionate and skilled Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our in-house rehabilitation team at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, PA. The position starts at $50 per hour.

As part of our premier senior living community serving the region since 1988, you'll provide evaluation, treatment, and education services to older adults experiencing communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing disorders. This per diem opportunity offers a flexible schedule and hours and the chance to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team. In this role you'll develop individualized treatment plans that help residents maintain independence, improve function, and enhance quality of life.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while exercising a high degree of clinical judgment and autonomy in a supportive senior living environment.

What will I do as a Speech Language Pathologist?

• Evaluate and assess residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication, safety, and quality of life.
• Perform diagnostic screenings and interpret assessment findings to guide clinical care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to support resident outcomes.
• Educate residents and families on treatment goals, progress, and home programs.
• Complete timely documentation, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record.

What do I need as a Speech Language Pathologist?

• Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Communications Disorder and attainment of Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Must possess PA state license.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and collaborate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to support quality patient care.
• Two or more years' experience in providing clinical services in acute or post-acute health care setting and to medically stable older adults, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift residents and spend extended time on their feet.
• Have stamina and strength to perform the job.
• Ability to use your hands to move a person's body and provide therapeutic exercise.
• Use mechanical aids to reduce the need to lift residents.
