Associate Veterinarian - Integrative, Exotic & General Practice

Location: Reno, NV
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Practice Type: Outpatient Veterinary Practice
Compensation: $140,000-$210,000 annually

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and progressive Associate Veterinarian to join a growing veterinary practice in Reno, Nevada. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian or a newer doctor seeking strong mentorship, professional development, and a collaborative work environment.

The practice combines Eastern and Western medicine, integrative care, progressive technology, and individualized patient treatment . Veterinarians with an interest in integrative medicine, holistic care, exotic animal medicine, dentistry, or surgery are especially encouraged to apply. Experience in these areas is highly desirable but not required .

• Provide comprehensive veterinary care to canine, feline, and potentially exotic patients

• Perform wellness examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and follow-up care

• Perform surgeries and dental procedures based on experience and interest

• Provide urgent care as needed

• Communicate effectively with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care

• Maintain accurate medical records and complete required charting

• Participate in client communication before and after appointments

• Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide high-quality patient care

• Develop and pursue areas of professional interest

The typical patient population is approximately:

• 60% canine

• 25% feline

• 15% exotic , depending on the veterinarian's experience and interests

Patients may include animals of all ages.

Caseload varies depending on the day's assignment and may include:

• Up to 16 standard 30-minute appointments

• Approximately 8-12 urgent care appointments

• Up to 3 dental procedures

• Approximately 5 surgical procedures

The practice is open Monday through Saturday , with a limited number of holidays observed as closures.

Typical veterinarian hours include:

• Arrival around 7:45 AM

• Appointments and procedures generally scheduled from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

• Additional time before and after appointments may be needed for charting, client calls, and patient-related responsibilities

• Hospital operating hours extend until approximately 6:00 PM

• No overnight patient care

• No on-call, night, or weekend shift differential

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree

• Active veterinary license or eligibility for licensure in Nevada

• Strong commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Team-oriented and collaborative approach

• Interest in continued professional development

• Ability to work effectively in a growing, fast-paced practice
