Job Title: STEM Student Peer Tutor - Federal Work Study Location: UNG - Gainesville Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 298756 Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Tutoring Services department on the Gainesville campus. This position will tutor students in one or more STEM disciplines (first- and second-year mathematics, general physics, general Chemistry, and/or accounting) offered by the University and will assist students, faculty, and staff with all services provided by UNG tutoring centers. Responsibilities Tutor students in one or more STEM disciplines: first- and second-year mathematics, general physics, general Chemistry, and/or accounting Work on examples to illustrate appropriate use of concepts Encourage students to use class notes and other resources to complete assignments Demonstrate the use of calculators, both graphing and non-graphing, and relevant software for the discipline Assist in the general operation of the tutoring center Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Assistant Director, or Tutoring Lab Coordinator of Tutoring Services Required Qualifications Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
