Controller

We’re partnering with a growing organization to hire a Controller who will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and the accounting team. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on maintaining accurate financials, supporting cash flow, and improving accounting processes. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Location: Onsite Reports To: CFO What You’ll Do Lead and support the accounting team across key finance functions. Oversee the full accounting cycle and ensure accurate financial transactions. Manage accounts receivable , including billing, collections, reconciliations, and aging. Ensure timely invoicing and collections to support healthy cash flow. Prepare and analyze financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and revenue-related reporting. Support and oversee month-end and year-end close activities. Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures . Partner with project managers, sales, and clients to resolve billing and payment issues. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Support audits and ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements. What We’re Looking For Strong accounting leadership experience, ideally at the Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager level. Experience overseeing both accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. Strong understanding of construction or project-based billing, invoicing, and contractual terms . Experience with construction accounting concepts such as job costing, WIP, progress billing, or retainage is highly preferred. Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and internal controls experience. Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and partnering across departments. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Ideal Candidate The right person will be someone who can operate at both the leadership and hands-on accounting level . You should be comfortable digging into the details, improving processes, supporting the team, and working closely with the CFO and operational leaders.
