Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary Senior Software Engineer – Mainframe (Cobol, CICS, JCL, VSAM) Location: 1 Seneca St, Buffalo, NY 14203. Requires in‑office work four days per week. Responsibilities Own end‑to‑end responsibility for enhancement, maintenance, and production support of mainframe applications using Cobol, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and related IBM tools. Deploy mainframe source code and components to production via automated pipelines, following DevOps standards and best practices. Complete and oversee systems analysis, design, and development from technical analysis to user acceptance testing. Lead and coordinate development tasks on projects of small to large scope, mentoring less experienced resources. Prepare and manage technical components of project plans, including test data, detailed test plans, and debugging. Evaluate complex interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms; provide analytical consultation to business units. Prepare and update technical and functional specifications, documentation, charts, tables, and diagrams. Maintain efficient operation of supported applications, follow code development standards, and adhere to company risk and regulatory policies. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field. Five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Programmer, Technical Leader, or related occupation. Five (5) years of experience with software development using COBOL, CICS, JCL and VSAM. Two (2) years of experience in DevOps on mainframe IDZ. Compensation Salary: $147,118.00 – $147,188.00 per year.
