Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Concession Stand staff will provide excellent customer service to ensure guests have a positive experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serve as a role model to the members and staff and live the mission, vision and values of the YMCA.
• Assist with the opening and closing of the concession area.
• Process payments, provide change, and operate the cash register accurately. Reconcile cash drawer every evening.
• Take orders, serve food and follow sanitation and food handling guidelines.
• Keep the concession stand, cooking area, counters and machines clean and organized.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks to ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking food, drink, and supplies as needed to ensure efficient operations. Notify supervisor or director when supplies are low and need to be reordered as needed.
• Maintaining positive communication with all members, guests, and YMCA employees.
• Must present a neat and professional appearance at all times and wear personal protective equipment as required (i.e. rubber soled shoes, gloves, hair net, etc.)
• Participate in and solicit others to participate in necessary YMCA financial development efforts, specifically the Annual Campaign.
• Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements while adherence to all policies and procedures of the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley.
• Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings.
• All other duties as assigned by the Branch Executive.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Show initiative in absence of supervision.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, especially during peak seasons.
