Painter/Blaster

Job Description An Industrial Journeyman Painter/Blaster will paint equipment and structures for protection and cosmetic purposes. The position requires maintaining, mixing, and thorough knowledge of paint and other coating materials to ensure the equipment or structure is painted and protected per contract or specifications. Must have experience spray painting, operating sandblasting equipment, and fireproof applicating. Position Summary The industrial journeyman painter/blaster will paint and protect equipment and structures, maintain coating materials, and follow contract specifications. The role includes: read blueprints, prepare surfaces, mix and apply coatings, and ensure safety compliance. Qualification Highlights Able to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans. Possesses all required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Willing to assist other crafts when not actively painting. Can meet all physical requirements. Follows safety rules and regulations. Has all required tools. Has reliable transportation. Position Responsibilities Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work. Identify all tools required for tasks. Identify safety risks and implement precautions. Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to specifications. Identify and mix paint and coatings and sand blast structures. Know proper use and techniques (stroke types) for each paint/coating and item. Work safely at heights and off ladders and scaffolds. Maintain housekeeping and clean up work areas. Required Qualifications 4+ years working as a Painter or Painter Helper on an industrial construction project. Proficient at reading blueprints, plans, and drawings. Knowledge of materials, tools, and processes for basic painting techniques and paint qualities. Can identify the relationship between materials and required techniques, mixtures, and number of coatings. Has reliable transportation. Can work full schedules and any additional overtime as needed. Willing to work safely, following all safety rules and regulations. Follows all company and site rules and regulations. Has required tools.
