Raytheon's Mission Capability Verification Center (MCVC) located on White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM is looking for a Radar Systems Engineer to support the Mission Operation Center (MOC)/ Mission Sustainment Center (MSC). In this role, you will manage moderately scoped projects and processes, as well as conduct engineering tests to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in preparation and conduct of testing activities. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and preparations for MOC/MSC during intervals with no active tests. The MOC/MSC is emplaced at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). The main focus is on maintenance, upgrades and preparation for the next deployment mission. MDAUnet and MDACnet are utilized for operational preparation of services for deployment. While on deployment the focus of activity is to support mission operations. You will deliver weekly updates on engineering activities and maintain detailed logs of changes or updates to the customer. You will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements and turning them into practical changes to both hardware and software of the MOC/MSC. This is an onsite role at WSMR located in White Sands, NM. What You Will Do
- Provide support in field testing environments
- Troubleshoot, fault isolation, disassembly, repair, assembly and checkout of communication / network switching systems. Includes repair, operation and sustainment of Cat 6 and Fiber Optic.
- Utilize your knowledge and skills regarding System & Service integration to include, but not limited to, authentication protocols, patch management, network segregation, and vulnerability management.
- Shall possess and demonstrate skills in the use of engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, general-purpose commercial test equipment, and common tools.
- Work with the Cyber & Compliance Teams to maintain RTX standards and DFARS requirements which include assessments, implementation steps, and ensuring the integrity of the security authorization package.
- 50% travel is required to support assigned systems.
- Typically requires Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
- Knowledge of test instrumentation, telemetry, radar systems, communications systems, or weapons systems integration and a strong understanding of systems engineering and test methodologies
- Comptia Security + certification or willingness to complete certification within 90 days of hire
- Prior military or defense industry test range experience.
- Experience supporting DoD developmental test (DT) and operational test (OT) events.
- Familiarity with missile systems, air defense systems, or command-and-control platforms.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Knowledge of range safety and environmental compliance requirements.
