Area ManagerPediatric Home Service is a leader in home health care, committed to taking care of the child! PHS has been providing state-of-the-art home medical equipment, supplies, clinical respiratory care, and enteral nutrition services since 1987. We are looking for an experienced leader in home health care who will be responsible for the overall direction of all customer-facing departments.Location: Houston, TexasHours: Monday-Friday, 8 am- 5 pm In office, on call as needed Travel required within the assigned areaThe Position:The Area Manager oversees all customer-facing and operational activities to ensure high-quality patient care and effective team performance. This includes managing staff hiring, training, and development; coordinating patient services; and resolving issues with patients, families, and internal teams. The role involves preparing reports, budgets, and improvement plans, collaborating with leadership on strategic goals, and maintaining compliance with professional standards. Additionally, the manager negotiates with vendors, manages facility needs, and implements workflows and training programs to support continuous improvement in pediatric home health and DME service.Oversees day-to-day operations of area location to ensure efficient service delivery and patient needs are met in accordance with physician orders, company policies and procedures and professional standards of home-based careResponsible for the overall direction of all customer-facing and customer-enabling area location employeesIn conjunction with Regional VP, manage P&D, ensure financial targets and budgets are met or exceededAnalyze financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvementDevelop and manage budgets for each area location, ensuring cost control and profitabilityEnsure all areas deliver exceptional customer service, managing escalated customer concerns and complaints, ensuring timely resolutionConfers with managers and staff concerning problems of patient care or policies and assists in analyzing problems and formulating solutionsDevelops and promotes cooperative working relationships with other provider agencies and referral sourcesActs as liaison with caregivers and clinical staff on appropriate home medical equipment choices and ensures coordination of care with other company services, such as RT, CN, PHAR/IVFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement that promotes teamwork, professional growth, employee engagement and recognizes high performanceSet clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback and performance management.Seeks ways to improve and promote quality by participating in departmental and corporate quality improvement activitiesMonitor customer satisfaction levels and implement improvements as neededSupervisory Responsibilities:Interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team membersProviding training, coaching, and ongoing developmentPlanning, assigning, and monitoring daily work activitiesConducting performance evaluations and giving feedback and recognizing and rewarding strong performanceAddressing concerns, resolving issues, and handling corrective actions when neededQualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive leadership experience may be consideredSeven (7) years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, DME, home health, multi-site operations, or a related environment preferredPrevious experience leading and developing teams, including other leadersExperience with budgeting, financial statements, operational metrics, and P&L responsibilityUnderstanding of healthcare reimbursement, insurance processes, revenue cycle, and/or DME operations preferredDemonstrated ability to improve processes, solve complex operational challenges, and manage competing prioritiesStrong relationship-building skills and ability to partner effectively across clinical, operational, and corporate teamsComfortable using data and KPIs to identify trends and guide decisionsStrong communication skills with the ability to lead through change and bring teams togetherA hands-on, collaborative leadership style and willingness to stay connected to day-to-day operationsThe Company:Pediatric Home Service is a pediatric home health agency that has provided high-quality DME and nursing services to medically fragile children since 1990.
