Site Coordinator

Team: Agricultural & Technology Reports to: Group Manager, AgTech Employment type: Full time Experience level: 0 to 3 years. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Compensation: $55,000 to $70,000 Reservoir builds and operates on-farm incubators where agtech startups develop, break, fix, and prove their machines on working farms. Our Salinas campus has a machine shop, office space, and acres of leafy greens and strawberries that resident startups use as a proving ground. Partners include John Deere, Western Growers Association, and the State of California. We move fast and the work is real. Robots run in our fields most weeks of the year. The role The Site Coordinator runs the day to day at Reservoir Farms - Salinas. You are the person who opens the gate in the morning, walks a founder out to their trial plot, torques a bolt on a weeder that has to be running by noon, and then sets up chairs for forty visitors who show up after lunch. You are the face of the campus. Startups will ask you where to find a 3/8 socket and how to get their tractor unstuck. Growers will ask what the strange machine in the strawberry field actually does. Investors and elected officials will walk through on tours. You answer all of it. This is a hands-on job with dirt and grease in it. It is also a people job. The best person for this role is equally comfortable running a MIG welder and running a room. What you will do Shop and equipment Enforce shop safety protocols and run safety trainings on machinery Perform maintenance and repairs on shop equipment and site machinery Oversee new equipment installs Order tools, parts, and supplies Keep the shop clean, organized, and ready to work Field operations Schedule field time for resident startups and coordinate the logistics around it Set up and oversee demos and product demonstrations Make sure protocols are followed during field activities Work alongside our growing partners on leafy greens and strawberry blocks Site operations and safety Serve as the onsite safety contact Manage opening and closing, gate and access control, deliveries, and vendors Handle local compliance items such as permits and safety codes Keep the campus looking like a place people want to be Community and events Coordinate day of logistics for tours, site days, and demo days Host industry, grower, and student visits Help build the culture of the campus, including the after hours version of it. Our best days end with people standing around a truck bed talking about what broke and what they learned Startup support Be the day of point of contact for resident startups Help manage the intern program Who we are looking for 0 to 3 years of experience. A bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Systems Management, BioResource and Ag Engineering, Ag Business, Mechanized Ag, or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience Comfortable in a shop. You know your way around hand tools, power tools, basic fabrication, and machine maintenance Comfortable in a field. You understand how a real farm operation runs and what a grower cares about Some exposure to precision ag equipment. GPS guidance, section control, sprayer or planter calibration, sensors, autonomous platforms, or anything in that neighborhood. You do not need to be an expert. You do need to be curious and unafraid of a wiring harness Warm and genuinely good with people. You start conversations instead of waiting for them Organized enough that nothing falls through the cracks when four things happen at once Willing to put in the hours during peak season, and willing to stick around afterward for the part where the community gets built Bonus points for Spanish, a forklift or Class A license, a background in the Salinas Valley or Central Coast, or a history of fixing things nobody asked you to fix. Why this job is worth taking You will be twenty months into your career and standing in a field with founders, engineers from John Deere, and third generation growers, all looking at the same machine. Very few first jobs put you in that room. Most people spend a decade trying to get there. Reservoir is growing.
