Clinic Record Clerk

: Clinic Record Clerk is responsible for the performance of various duties that are intended to result in proper coordination of clinical paperwork for services provided to patients. Job duties will be performed to assist not only the patient but personnel in other hospital departments and clinics. Duties include scheduling new work comp injury appointments with adjuster, nurse case managers, or employers; evaluating accident reports to ensure timely processing of medical bills, FMLA paperwork, and temporary total disability benefits; compiling notes and information regarding accident reports and filed cases; and documenting conversations, witness statements, medical reports, accident investigation results, and payment of medical bills. Requirements: Graduate of state accredited high school or equivalent is required. 1-2 years experience in a hospital or physician office setting preferred. Prior experience in worker's compensation processing and insurance knowledge preferred. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and manage deadlines well. Medical terminology and knowledge of CPT codes and ICD-10 codes highly preferred. Knowledge of the Worker's Compensation Act and general physical impairments or disabilities is preferred.
