Full-Time School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location: Tarboro, North Carolina

We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a supportive school district in Tarboro, North Carolina . This contracted position offers a unique 4-day workweek (32 hours per week) while serving students across multiple campuses throughout the school year.

Position Details

• Position: Full-Time School-Based Occupational Therapist
• Location: Tarboro, NC
• Schedule: 32 hours per week, 4 days per week
• Contract: Full school year
• Caseload: Approximately 37 students
• School Sites: 3 locations
• Student Population: Preschool through 5th grade, with middle school evaluations as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy evaluations and direct therapy services to students in preschool through 5th grade.
• Conduct evaluations for middle school students as needed.
• Perform play-based assessments every Wednesday .
• Serve as a member of the Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment (TPBA) team by conducting evaluations for preschool-aged students.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEPs.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with school, state, and federal regulations.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide evidence-based recommendations to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
• Active North Carolina Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility to obtain)
• School-based experience is preferred but not required
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Experience with preschool evaluations or play-based assessments is a plus
