Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an overflow IMCU/Cardiac Stepdown unit serving an adult to geriatric population across a 32-bed unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio
• Manage cardiac conditions including CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia), and post-cardiac catheterization care including TR Band management
• Administer and monitor continuous IV drip medications including cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips
• Care for patients with pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), renal conditions, DKA, and surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains); provide overflow care for occasional vascular, orthopedic, or CVA patients
• Perform arrhythmia management and cardioversion as needed; apply TR Bands and perform all skills within the Med-Surg scope of practice
• Document using Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework; float within the facility within scope of practice as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state required at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Prior travel nursing experience required; must have demonstrated experience managing continuous IV drip medications as listed above — please confirm this experience at time of submission
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and TR Band competency required
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
• Experience in an IMCU, stepdown, or progressive care unit setting
• Familiarity with cardioversion and post-cardiac cath care protocols
• Comfort managing a diverse patient population including cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and surgical overflow patients
