Compensation

• $21.00–$25.00 per hour

Position Summary

 

Prosper Communities is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Service Technician I to support maintenance operations across our growing portfolio of apartment communities throughout the Cincinnati market.

 

This is a scattered-site position, meaning you'll travel between multiple communities performing service requests, preventative maintenance, apartment turns, and general repairs. Every day is different, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working independently while being part of a supportive team.

Key Performance Expectations

 

Our Service Technician I team members are expected to:

 

• Complete resident work orders accurately and efficiently
• Deliver exceptional customer service to residents
• Help maintain safe, clean, and well-maintained communities
• Assist with apartment turnovers to reduce vacancy time
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles professionally
• Support preventative maintenance initiatives
• Contribute to high resident satisfaction scores
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, appliance repair, and painting
• Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs efficiently
• Complete preventative maintenance throughout assigned communities
• Maintain common areas and building systems

 

Apartment Turns

• Prepare apartments for new residents
• Complete punch lists, repairs, painting, fixture replacements, and other turnover tasks
• Work closely with Property Managers to ensure apartments are move-in ready on schedule

 

Resident Service

• Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests
• Communicate clearly regarding repair timelines and completed work
• Deliver outstanding customer service while working inside occupied homes

 

Safety & Compliance

• Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and completed work orders
• Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and tools remain clean and organized

 

Team Support

• Collaborate with Property Managers and maintenance team members
• Assist with special projects, capital improvements, and newly acquired properties as needed
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies (when scheduled)

 

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of apartment, residential, facilities, or general maintenance experience preferred
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, or appliance repair
• EPA Certification and/or HVAC Certification is a plus but not required
• Willingness to learn and grow through company-paid training
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
