Production Planner

Melville, NY | On-Site

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Production Planner to play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations and ensuring products are delivered on time to customers. This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams while driving inventory optimization, production scheduling, and supply chain efficiency.

• Develop and maintain production and supply plans that align with customer demand and delivery requirements.
• Review and execute MRP recommendations, converting planning signals into actionable production orders.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively balance supply and demand to prevent shortages while minimizing excess inventory.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and Quality teams to support uninterrupted production flow.
• Utilize ERP systems daily to manage material planning, production orders, and scheduling activities.
• Analyze forecasts, inventory trends, capacity constraints, and production data using advanced Excel tools.
• Build and evaluate "what-if" scenarios to support decision-making around demand fluctuations, supply disruptions, and capacity planning.
• Adjust production schedules and plans in response to changing business needs and operational priorities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support initiatives that enhance planning accuracy and operational efficiency.

• 3+ years of production planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of MRP-driven planning and production order management.
• Experience working in ERP systems such as SAP or similar manufacturing platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, formulas, and data analysis.
• Knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, and supply planning best practices.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed planning decisions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
• Experience supporting a growing or scaling manufacturing operation is highly preferred.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, On-Site in Melville

Hours: 8:30 AM-5:30 PM or 8:45 AM-5:30 PM (depending on schedule selection)

This is a Contract position based out of Melville, NY.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
