Charting System: Epic On-Call Requirements:
- 10-15 on-call shifts per contract are required
- Weekday/Weeknight call: Begins at the end of the scheduled shift and continues until 6:30 AM the following morning
- Weekend call: 24-hour on-call shift
- On-call shifts are equally distributed among all CVOR staff
- Circulate and scrub for cardiovascular surgical procedures, including open-heart, thoracic, vascular, and endovascular cases, while adhering to sterile technique and patient safety standards.
- Prepare and manage the operating room environment, including surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and advanced technology used in CVOR and hybrid OR procedures.
- Monitor patients intraoperatively, assist anesthesia and surgical teams, manage specimens, administer blood products as indicated, and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
- Provide perioperative nursing care across CVOR and General OR settings, supporting multiple surgical service lines such as Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, and Trauma as needed.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities, respond to urgent and emergent surgical cases, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and optimal surgical outcomes.
Requirements Licensure
- Active Maryland RN License or Compact License - Required
- Minimum 3-5 years of CVOR experience - Required
- Strong circulating and scrub experience - Required
- General OR experience across multiple service lines - Required
- First-time travelers considered with strong recent CVOR experience
- BLS - Required
- ACLS - Preferred
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Work Settings: CVOR, General OR, Hybrid OR, Trauma
